You have helped Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge make it possible to offer virtual programs, continue land restoration, and even provide some new refuge access points during the pandemic. Because of you, we were able to keep making an impact to the land, the wildlife and mental health during the pandemic. We need your help now! Your support of the Friends group is so important because government funding only covers a portion of the total expenses needed to manage a nearly 11,000-acre refuge…Just a mere 59 cents/acre per year of government funding is allocated for the National Wildlife Refuge System. Your partnership and support will put the Refuge on solid footing as we come out of the pandemic.
We’re recovering, and with your help we’ll be ready to go when we are finally able to fully reopen. Please consider making a gift to support the Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. Our goal of $25,000 will continue to support our education, conservation, and restoration efforts at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. A portion of funds raised will support our land acquisition and restoration program so that we can continue to provide habitat for migratory birds and wildlife.
